Day 3 in Grenada

Never thought I'd use the term "a cool 27 degrees," but here we are.

I got up at 6am today because my body hates me. It turned out to be actually quite nice, as it was ~a cool 27 degrees~ outside and I ate breakfast on balcony #1 looking at the boats catch the rising sun light. I couldn't actually see the sunrise because I'm on the wrong side of the mountain, but the boats were very pretty. Boats are always pretty, but I digress. My breakfast consisted of green tea and a ham sandwich. I normally have a ham and hummus sandwich because I enjoy hummus as I find it to be appealing in both flavour and texture. However, I do not have hummus here, so my sandwich just consisted of some ham between two slices of toast. It saddens me. I miss hummus.

There is a set of electrical wires in front of balcony #1. This morning, there was a group of birds sitting on those wires. Now normally, birds on wires is not a thing worthy enough to write about. There are plenty of birds that sit on wirespigeons, crows, seagulls, that giant thing in the Pixar short "For the birds," etc. However, I had never seen these birds before. There were about a dozen of them, and they were the size of a pigeon, but black, and had the head-to-body ratio of a swan along with an inch-long skinny neck. They looked vaguely like goth Christmas decorations. Also present that morning were the roosters again. However, now it's 3pm and they're still at it so I'm starting to wonder if they ever take a break. Roosters should unionize and organize proper working hours.

I'm writing this post on balcony #2. It's been raining most of the day, and there has been the occasional refreshing breeze on the balcony, which I very much appreciate. I think that I'll be writing every day to prevent my brain from becoming mush by the end of the week. Is there a verb for becoming mush? Mushening? Enmushening? It's already started. Apart from writing, I spend my days doing yoga, reading, watching Netflix, staring blankly at my phone as the infinite line of short-attention-span entertainment scrolls meaninglessly on, and looking outsides because the view is quite nice. I'm going to go back to that now. Bye

    1. Glad you like the posts! Don't think they were cormorants, their beaks were too small.
